Upholstered Bed Export Packaging and Container Loading Guide

Upholstered beds travel a long way before they reach a showroom or a hotel room. This guide explains our upholstered bed export packaging, how carton sizes and CBM are confirmed, and how containers are loaded at our factory in Foshan.

How we pack upholstered beds for export

Each bed is packed in thickened export cartons. A bed is usually split into three cartons: the headboard, the frame and side panels, and the base and slats. Parts are wrapped before they go into the carton to protect the covers and corners. The exact carton count depends on the model and is confirmed in the quotation.

Splitting the bed this way keeps each carton to a size that two people can handle, and it protects the padded headboard, which is the part most easily marked in transit. Floating-base and platform models may pack differently, so the carton plan for each model is part of the specification you approve.

Carton sizes and CBM

Carton dimensions and volume (CBM) depend on the model and the mattress size, so we confirm them with each quotation. That lets you calculate freight and plan how many sets fit a container before you place the order. Mixed orders are covered in our guide to the upholstered bed MOQ.

Upholstered bed export packaging checklist

Agree these five points before production:

  • Carton count per bed, usually three.
  • Carton dimensions and CBM for every model and size.
  • Shipping marks and labels: your brand, barcodes or order references.
  • Assembly information: installation guidance is provided for the ordered configuration.
  • Protection for covers, corners and legs during handling.

Container loading furniture at our factory

Containers are loaded at our factory in Longjiang, Shunde. Our packing and shipping team checks the cartons against the packing list as they go into the container. Under EXW you collect the goods from our factory; under FCA or FOB we deliver them as the agreed Incoterms rule describes.

For a mixed order, cartons are grouped by model and size as they are loaded, so the goods can be checked against the packing list on arrival. Tell us if your warehouse needs a particular loading sequence, for example one model at the doors for quicker unloading, and we will plan the load around it.

Labels and documents

If you need your brand, barcodes or shipping marks on the cartons, include them in your enquiry so that they are quoted and printed before packing. Our export sales team prepares the shipping documents for your order. See how our packing and sales departments work.

Choosing the trade term

The trade term decides where our responsibility ends and yours begins. We quote EXW, FOB or FCA under the ICC Incoterms rules. Our guide FOB vs EXW vs FCA for furniture compares the three.

Whichever term you choose, upholstered bed export packaging is the same: the cartons, labels and loading checks do not change. What changes is who pays for transport and insurance from our factory onwards, and where the risk passes to you.
