Upholstered Bed Dimensions: A 9-Point Specification Checklist for Buyers

Two beds made for the same mattress can differ by many centimetres in length, width and height. This checklist explains which upholstered bed dimensions to confirm before you order, how they appear in our specifications and how we check them before packing in our factory in Foshan.
Mattress size and overall upholstered bed dimensions
The mattress size is the space inside the frame: 180 × 200 cm means the bed takes a 180 cm wide, 200 cm long mattress. The overall dimensions are the outside of the bed, including the padded headboard, the side rails and any frame edge. A thick, padded headboard adds length; upholstered side rails add width. Always list both on an order line.
Standard sizes in our catalogue
Our standard mattress sizes are 180 × 200 cm and 150 × 200 cm, and other sizes are quoted on request. The overall height depends on the headboard: in the Comfort series models 387 and 390 stand 108 cm high, and in the Premium series models 5572 and 5573 stand 118 cm high. Each product page lists the dimensions of that model.
| Measurement | What it tells you | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Mattress size | The mattress the bed takes | 180 × 200 cm |
| Overall length | Floor space from headboard to foot | Listed per model |
| Overall width | Floor space across the bed | Listed per model |
| Overall height | Headboard height from the floor | 108 cm (387, 390); 118 cm (5572, 5573) |
9-point upholstered bed dimensions checklist
Confirm these nine points for each model and size before you approve an order:
- Mattress size, in centimetres, with the market name if you use one.
- Overall length, including the headboard.
- Overall width, including the side rails.
- Overall height of the headboard from the floor.
- Headboard thickness, which affects length and wall clearance.
- Base type and height: a 10 cm slatted base or a solid board base.
- Leg height and floor clearance.
- Carton dimensions and CBM for each of the three cartons.
- Access: doors, lifts and stairs on the delivery route for project orders.
Size names differ by market
King, queen and double do not mean the same thing in every country; see the general overview of bed sizes and our EU, UK and US bed size guide. Put the mattress size in centimetres on every order line and use the market name only as a label.
Packing dimensions and container planning
The assembled overall dimensions do not tell you the packed size. Each bed ships flat in three cartons: the headboard, the side rails and the base. Carton sizes and CBM are confirmed with each quotation, which lets you plan a container before you order. The export packaging guide shows how the cartons are made and loaded.
How we confirm dimensions
Every size is written as its own line in the specification, with its overall dimensions. For a custom size, the sample is built to that line first; see the sampling process. At the end of production, our quality control team checks finished beds against the specification at the final inspection stations, which have a measuring grid on the floor. See our quality checks and supplier test reports.
Our bedside tables are made alongside the beds; their dimensions are confirmed on request with the quotation. When you are ready, use the wholesale upholstered bed quotation checklist to send the sizes for every line.
